Step right up! and welcome to my website, after a long winter sitting around the fire with chestnuts roasting and the computer humming away, I am happy to say that there's a lot of new stuff here. From concert photos (more then 150) to sound clips (over 20), plenty to keep you amused and clicking away. Of course, I've also been busy fiddling the old horse hair & catgut and this coming Summer has some exciting events coming up with the Celtic Reelers: we'll be playing in the St. Cirq Celtic festival in France, then heading to Tunisia to play in a Roman theatre, then afterwards we'll be back to France for a Country music festival in Junas and the summer festival in Pont à Mousson, besides many shindigs in between. Look to the live page for all the dates coming up.
I had the pleasure to recently present “Au Diable Merlin” at the Conte en Picardie, a collaboration of music and storytelling with Breton story teller Sophie Joignant who runs a great festival in Uzes. After the warm reception throughout the winter's season of this performance we've gone on to record it and are currently preparing for it's release on CD (a.s.a.p.). |
Me and Angus Aird meantime have had the chance to create, in collaboration with the Jeunesse Musicales de France, a concert for the French national education board on the history of Scottish music. As it is for kids in elementary school, we've had fun mixing humor, music, stage gags, dancing and general high jinks into one rollicking bundle which keeps them on our side! Angus is even willing to have a go at playing the pipes but we're not sure how to tune them!?
Thanks for stopping by, I'll be adding content to the site continually so please drop in again and of course feel free to leave a message (mean, ugly, cranky, whining good-for-nothing web-wasters please abstain unless funny) and I'll try to get back to you sooner then ya' can shake a stick.

And Don't Forget:
The R.Crumb handbook is out! For all R.Crumb fans and the uninitiated- 432 pages of his work, including an audio cd sampler which "contains selections recorded by various groups that R.Crumb has enjoyed playing with during his long, half-assed musical career". Discover never before heard recordings of the Ian McCamy quartette with R.Crumb on the mandolin. Secretly forgotten in a back drawer, lost under piles of music in my house, these where recorded many years back in a friends house and have been remastered for high mono fidelity. Even better it is free when you buy the book! |
